Kidnapping and Assault Suspect Found in Dunn
Michael Anthony Dixon, 27, of Mozingo Road in Greenville, has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Dunn near Interstate 95. Dixon is wanted by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office for kidnapping and assaulting his girlfriend on January 20.
Dixon’s felony charges from Pitt County include: Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury; Possession of a Firearm by a Felon; Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine; Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana; Maintaining a Dwelling Place for Sale of Cocaine; Common Law Robbery; and First-degree Kidnapping.
He is being held in the Harnett County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond for Pitt County, and a $35,000 secured bond related to an alleged drug charge in Harnett County.
The victim had been assaulted and had multiple burns on her body. She was transported to Vidant Medical Center by Bell Arthur EMS where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Dixon had fled the scene of the kidnapping and assault by vehicle before deputies arrived. He has an extensive criminal history.
