Joint Investigation Leads To Arrest

 

On June 22, the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joseph Thomas Smith, Jr., DOB:  6/07/1935 of 3527 Red Tip Lane, Farmville for felony larceny.

 

A joint investigation involving the PCSO, Greene County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles resulted in a search warrant of Smith’s residence.

 

During the search, a stolen John Deere Gator and a John Deere LX/27 riding lawn mower were recovered.  The items, valued at $23,000, were reported stolen in Greene County on June 19.

 

Smith is charged with two counts of Felony Larceny. Smith is out of the Pitt County Detention Center under a $2,500 unsecured bond.

 

The investigation in this case is ongoing.
