Traffic Stop Leads to Pursuit Through Greenville
On June 23, at 12:30 am, the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 GMC Yukon on Memorial Drive.
While detectives were obtaining information from the driver and the passenger, the two individuals fled in the vehicle, leading deputies on a pursuit through Greenville.
The chase ended when the passenger, Kendrick Earl Green, DOB: 9/18/1986 of 3001 McGregor Downs Road Greenville, jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot in the area of Tobi Circle, Greenville.
The driver, Brandy Michelle Meeks, DOB: 12/22/1984 of 3001 McGregor Downs Road Greenville, was immediately arrested.
Green ran into an apartment on Tobi Circle, and was soon arrested. Green had in his possession approximately 1/2 lbs. of marijuana and $238.
Green is charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana and Resisting Public Officer; 4 counts of Failure to Appear for Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana; Possession of Marijuana Up to ½ oz.; and 2 counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Green is also wanted by the Department of Correction for a Parole violation.
Meeks is charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana; Maintain a Vehicle for the Sale of Controlled Substance; Flee to Elude Arrest with a Motor Vehicle; Failure to Heed to Lights and Siren; and 4 counts of Failure to Stop at Sign/Flashing Red Light.
Both remain in the Pitt County Detention Center. Green is under a $120,000 secured bond, while Meeks is under a $45,000 secured bond.
