Tip From Neighbors Lead to Arrest of Drug Dealers


In April, 2011, a tip from neighbors led to the investigation of Noel Hutchinson by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit.  During the investigation, detectives were able to purchase crack cocaine from Hutchinson.


On May 12, a search of Hutchinson’s residence at 1874 Hop Tyson Road, Greenville resulted in locating approximately 10 grams of cocaine, as well as cash.


Hutchinson, DOB: 11/20/1964 was arrested and charged with three counts of Possession with the Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine; two counts of Selling Cocaine; two counts of Delivering Cocaine; and Maintaining a Dwelling House for a Control Substance.


A second suspect, Orr Ali Omar, DOB:  11/19/1974 of 960 Spring Forest Road, Greenville, was also arrested at the time of the search in connection with the investigation, and charged with Possession with the Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine.


Before leaving the scene, the detectives were thanked for their efforts and for listening to their concerns by the citizens of the Hop Tyson Community.


Both were transported to the Pitt County Detention Center.  Hutchinsonwas placed under a $30,000 secured bond and Omar was placed under a $10,000 secured bond.
