UPDATE:  Arrest of Murder Suspect

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a second suspect in the murder of 54 year old Michael Ray Arenas Stocks of 6592 Leary Mills Road, Grimesland.

Connie Corinn Hahn, DOB:  6/20/1962, was arrested today and charged with Accessory After the Fact; and Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon.  Hahn’s husband,  Ronald Whitehurst Chadwick, DOB:  6/27/1957 of Greenville was arrested on Saturday, April 16 and charged with an Open Count of Murder. Chadwick received an additional charge today of Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon.

On April 15 at 1:53 a.m., the PCSO received a call to 941 Mizell Street, Greenville in reference to a possible assault.  Deputies arrived and found Michael Ray Arenas Stocks on the floor as a result of a possible head injury and intoxication.

EMS transported Stocks to Pitt County Memorial Hospital where detectives learned that Stocks sustained life threatening injuries. Stocks died at approximately 8:00 p.m. The investigation revealed that Stocks, while staying at the couple’s home, was assaulted by Chadwick with a baseball bat.

Chadwick has a previous conviction for Murder in Florida, as well as extensive history in North Carolina for various offenses.

Chadwick and Hahn are in the Pitt County Detention Center.  Chadwick’s bond is set at $2,500,000.00.  Hahn’s bond is set at $300,000.00.
