Three Arrested in Larceny of Copper Wire

 

On May 23, the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a breaking and entering at Marin Marietta Materials on Allen Gay Road in Fountain.

 

The suspects had entered the business through the office and cut off and removed 700 feet of copper wire.

 

The investigation led to a metal recycler where the copper wire had been sold. 

 

On May 24, John Aaron Warlick, 28, of 1470 Mewborn Church Road in Snow Hill was arrested; on May 31, Robert Lance Brady, 32,of 4170 East Prince Road in Farmville was arrested, and on June 3, Derek Nathaniel Peele, 22, of 1564 Tall Pines Lane in Farmville was arrested.  All are charged with Breaking and Entering; Felony Larceny; and Injury to Property of Non-Ferrous Metal.

 

Warlick is also charged with Obtaining Property by False Pretense by selling the metal and Unlawful Transport more than 25 pounds of copper on state highways.

 

All were booked into the Pitt County Detention Center and placed under a $15,000 secured bond.
